Some armies in Warhammer 40,000 impress through sheer numbers, while others stand out because of their monsters or legendary heroes. Imperial Knights are fascinating for an entirely different reason: every towering model in the army represents a Knight war engine capable of overturning a tank with a single swing of its blade or annihilating an entire squad with its arsenal.

In the universe of Warhammer 40,000, the Space Marines often steal the spotlight. They are genetically modified warriors, wrapped in almost indestructible armor and capable of facing, alone, horrors pulled straight from humanity’s darkest nightmares. And yet, when worlds are invaded by Orks, Tyranids, Necrons, or the armies of Chaos, they are rarely the ones who have to hold the first line. That role belongs to the Astra Militarum.

There are Chaos armies that look like cults, hordes of fanatics, or bands of corrupted raiders. The Black Legion, however, looks like something far more dangerous: an army built on failure, humiliation, and a will for revenge strong enough to defy the Imperium for ten thousand years.
